Destop Graphic

Today in class we created desktop graphics. I chose to get an image of a map of the United States from the internet. This file was a JPG image that was 790 bytes in size and would automatically open in windows picture viewer. I chose to edit it with Microsoft Paint because I wasn't aware that you could edit existing images with it so I wanted to learn how. I erased all of the names of the states and would use it to ask students to name them. After editing the image the I kept the file type as JPG and the size was 733. I feel that the use of this technology is applicable for following INTASC Principles:
Principle 6:
Communication/knowledge: The teacher uses knowledge of effective verbal, nonverbal and media communication techniques to foster active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interaction in the classroom.
Principle 7:
Planning for instruction: The teacher plans instruction based upon knowledge of subject matter, students, the community, and curriculum goals.
